Welcome on the MEGALASTRUM Study Group homepage!
The project is a collaborative study of the fern genus Megalastrum (Dryopteridaceae), a notoriously problematic group of ferns which comprises about 60 species worldwide. Fundamentally, the study will result in an improved understanding of the taxonomy and evolution of Megalastrum. With the integration of morphological and molecular data, and traditional and modern approaches, our study will not only provide for a better understanding of these ferns, but also further insight into the origins of fern diversity.
